The Wacky

There are times when, even if I'm here, I don't answer the phone very much, and I am now living in one of those times. It might have something to do with Jen, Cooter, Amy, and Deb being my most frequent callers (although Jen has dropped off the Earth once again), and ... well, no, that's exactly why. Let's take a look at some of the recent offerings of my voicemail box.

The day before yesterday I got a call from Cooter's mom. Hopefully y'all remember the story from last week's post with the skinnydipping idea so that this makes some sort of sense to you. Anyway, since then it's become a recurring in-joke between Cooter and me. I've repeated it here; and he's surely repeated parts of it over there. Apparently, his mom was threatening to ask me again, and Deb bet her that she wouldn't have the balls to call me and ask ... so of course she did. I tell ya, that lady is a hoot. I could even hear Deb in the background *freaking out*. To me, that's some good comedy right there.

There are also regular calls from Deb, even though the frequency has dropped off some from last weekend. I don't know, maybe I'm a jerk, or maybe it's that she's met me once and has become obsessed with me, but she is giving me the heebie-jeebies, and that isn't a good place to build interest from. But whatever it is, I'm still just not interested ... even enough to call her back, I guess. I'm secretly hoping she'll give up and go away without me having to rip the band-aid off.

There was a message from Cooter last night, too. "Hey, man. I was wondering if you can do me a favor. Can you take Deb out on a da--." That's the exact moment when I hit the delete button to erase the message. Apparently, she's driving him completely fucking nuts with this. And to that I say: HA. You brought this on yourself, assclown. Don't blame me that she's going all koo koo for Cocoa Puffs about this.

Well, they'll have to deal with it themselves for a few days because I am off to upstate New York to see the family and such. I hope they can all get along without me ... or not. Whatever.

See y'all on Sunday.
